Group News Editor

Steven Lamb is group news editor of Advisor.ca, Benefitscanada.com and Canadian Insurance. Prior to joining Advisor.ca in 2003, Steve spent three years as online editor/writer at CanoeMoney and Webfin.ca, and worked as a feature writer for The Journal, in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. He holds a B.A. in political science and classical studies from the University of Ottawa and studied journalism at Centennial College.

Senior Writer

Vikram Barhat is senior writer with Advisor.ca. His resume as a journalist covers 12 years of editorial responsibilities in various capacities. Vikram's globe-spanning experience comes from creating editorial content for magazines, newspapers and websites in South Asia, North America and the Middle East. He holds a Bachelor's degree in science.

Web Editor

John Powell is the Web Editor for Advisor.ca. Before joining the team in 2009, John performed the same role at Cineplex Entertainment and was CANOE.ca’s Canadian and International news editor for more than ten years. As a veteran entertainment writer, John’s work has been published by many prominent North American newspapers, magazines and Web sites. John studied journalism at Centennial College in Toronto.

Managing Editor

Nancy Turner is Managing Editor of Advisor Group, which includes Advisor's Edge, Advisor's Edge Report, and Advisor.ca. Prior to joining Advisor Group in 2010, Nancy worked for five years in the financial industry, first as a Research Editor and then as an Associate Analyst, Mining, at Octagon Capital Corp. in Toronto.

Deputy Editor, Advisor Group

Deanne Gage is the deputy editor of Advisor Group. She first joined Advisor Group in 1999 as a staff member of Advisor's Edge. She became editor of Advisor's Edge in 2005 and during that time, her Inside Edge column was well-known among readers for its no-nonsense, pro-advisor stance. Deanne moved over to Advisor.ca in 2007 and led the website's redesign project in 2008. Deanne is the recipient of several journalism awards, including one from the Investment Funds Institute of Canada. Deanne's work has also been published in Chatelaine, PROFIT and The Toronto Star and she holds a journalism degree from Ryerson University.

Executive Editor

Philip Porado is executive editor of Advisor Group, which includes Advisor's Edge, Advisor.ca, Advisor's Edge Report and our conference division. Prior to joining Advisor Group in 2004, Philip wrote and edited a weekly newsletter geared toward regulatory and compliance professionals at U.S. brokerage firms. He has been on the staff of several U.S. magazines and newspapers and is a graduate of the American University in Washington, D.C.

Group Publisher

Donna Kerry is the publisher of Advisor Group, which includes Advisor's Edge, Advisor's Edge Report, Conseiller, Advisor.ca and Conseiller.ca. Donna joined Advisor Group in 2003 and brings 12 years of magazine publishing and integrated sales experience having worked on various publications in the healthcare, and news and business divisions of Rogers.
