If your clients are interested in philanthropy, these resources will help you help them.

Find a community foundation through Community Foundations of Canada. They can help clients decide where to give, while also offering you knowledge support. For instance, the Toronto Community Foundation has an online portal called the Community Knowledge Centre that offers resources for both advisors and donors.

A book called Planned Giving for Canadians: A Guide to Instituting & Managing a Successful Planned Giving Program.

MindPath offers an annual conference called “Doing Well by Doing Good: Growing Your Financial Advisory Practice Through Philanthropy.” The next one is scheduled for June 14, 2012 in Toronto.

Dexterity Consulting’s Resources page, which offers links to a wide range of information, tips, advice and resources. Dexterity has also created a resource called Place2Give that offers donors information on charities to help them decide where and how to give.
