Internet Marketing among insurance advisors

I would like to conduct an informal poll, if I may. Please respond below:

  1. Do you have a website?
  2. Does your website genertate leads for new business?
  3. What percentage of time per week do you invest into online marketing?
  4. Do you manage your website yourself or outsource it?
  5. How much does it cost you per month for internet marketing and website maintenance?

The reason I ask these questions is that I have been running a online life and health insurance business for over a year now, and 100% of my new clients come from the internet. I think this is rather unusual for most insurance brokers out there, but I wanted to find out from you.

If you want to check out my website, visit Life Guard Insurance in Calgary.

Thanks everyone.

Honestly don't really do anything this way.  My clients prefer face to face time with me, and I meet new clients mainly through introductions from existing clients.

Good luck to you though.  You put a lot of effort into that site.  I hope it works well for you.

My company provides me with a website building template and hosting. I also use LinkedIn and KYFA.com.

LinkedIn serves as an online resume and sales tool, and I have a button in my email signature people can push to be directed to the LinkedIn page. I can track 'click throughs' and I find that almost everyone who receives an email from me with that button clicks through to LinkedIn at least once.

I've subscribed to KYFA.com for three months, and I just got my first meeting request from the site today.

My total time spent per week is 2-3 hours, and total cost is under $100 – but the cost of the company site is buried in what I pay my dealer – I have no idea of the 'real' cost.

Hi Mike,

Having a website via a template and producing a sort of online brochure is very diffrent than doing online marketing and inbound lead generation, which is what I do. At present I get about 40 qualified leads per month, but the goal is to increase that into the hundreds over the next year.

I have developed an Affiliate Internet lead generation system for other brokers and help them utilize the power of the internet. Take a look at my video and tell me what you think vs. what you're doing.

Cheers,

Mitch
