Does the reader of personal financial article/column receive good value for the cost incurred – time spent viewing as well as the price of the newspaper/magazine? How can this value be quantifed and measured? Are these costs transperent enough? Would readers be better served by using low or no cost options like blogs and free online editions of newspapers or other non-credentialed, non-accountable sources like co-workers or freinds and family?

I suppose as much as reading the health column in the same newspaper and self diagnosing!
