Between raising the alarm on climate change and launching successful tech companies, former U.S. presidential candidate Al Gore has also joined the investment fund business.

Generation Investment Management, which he co-founded in 2004, puts money into socially responsible companies, reports The Atlantic. The firm manages $12 billion for pension funds and other institutional investors, using a low-volatility approach.
