Reader Alert: Advisor.ca has the 2011 Federal Budget covered. Check back for updates all day Tuesday.
Finance Minister Jim Flaherty says Tuesday’s budget will contain some new spending to promote growth and job creation.
The minister says the main focus of the budget will be to stay on the fiscal track that will get the government back to balance in 2015.
But he also says he will make some investments as well.
He made the comments as he was having his shoes re-soled in a traditional pre-budget rite.
This will be Flaherty’s sixth budget in a minority situation.
There is a real possibility it will never be enacted, given that opposition parties seem poised to vote it down and force an election.
