John Maynard Keynes is best known as the father of Keynesian economics, the philosophy behind the 1930s New Deal that helped pull America out of the Great Depression.

But he was also a money manager, and he was good at it, reports the New York Times.

He managed money for himself, friends, and a number of investment funds and insurance companies. He did so well he can be called the Warren Buffett of his times, writes his biographer.
