One Briton is betting on astronomical returns.
Dutch Space tourism company Space Expedition Corporation (SXC) and U.K. trader Anton Kreil are about to make a giant financial leap—the first trade in Space. Kreil will hop aboard the XCOR Lynx MKII shuttle with SXC in 2014.
He will make the trade in U.S. dollars.
“I can’t commit to trading the Euro,” he says. “With the way things are looking, it may not even be around by the time we go.”
Details of the trade are under wraps. Kreil says they’re discussing sponsorship with publicly listed companies in the U.S., U.K. and Europe. The stock will be announced a few weeks before the flight.
The deal will be broadcast live on the Internet. The flight will take off from either Mohave in California or the Caribbean island of Curacao. It will take four minutes to get to Space, and the trip will last one hour.
