In the 1970s, the wealthiest people in Canada were mainly grocery, mining and industrial tycoons, reports Canadian Business. But over the last 40 years, there has been a massive shift in who makes up the country’s elite.

These days, says CB, there’s “a new crop of entrepreneurs [that are] elbowing their way into the ranks of Canada’s billionaire class. We’ll call them the next establishment: a generation of audacious global entrepreneurs, who are contemptuous of borders and [who] make their mark by massively disrupting entrenched industries that never saw it coming.”
