The flow of e-mails between co-workers, management and clients can get muddled pretty quickly.
And it’s easy to forget to check in with a client, or double-check that a task has been completed by a colleague when you’re swamped.
So, if you’re having trouble keeping track, enter FollowUpThen, a free service that sends you automatic e-mail reminders at whatever time you specify — whether it’s three weeks or three minutes later.
For instance, when sending an urgent assignment to an employee, by entering 3hours@followupthen.com in the Cc box, both you and your employee will be sent a reminder three hours from when you send the e-mail.
If the e-mail only needs to come to you, such as a reminder to follow up with a client, put 2weeks@followupthen.com in the Bcc field of an e-mail you send to that client. You’ll receive your reminder two weeks later, and the client will be none the wiser.
