Starry night sky with aurora polaris over the mountains

Your clients who live in Canada’s North know life is different there. For one, some parts have no trees, and for much of the year, little daylight. But there’s also the flowers of the Arctic tundra and the Northern Lights.

Then there are the more mundane differences: living up north can be expensive, as household goods need to be shipped in from other parts of the country. And going to Disneyland on vacation requires some long flights.

CRA has special tax measures for Canadians in the North. Click on the moose icon below to open an interactive tax guide for Northerners, or scroll down to access the guide in the pane on this page. There’s also a client-friendly version of the tool, available at Advisor to Client.
