The euro crisis is slowly fading away but not all is cured in Europe. While some may be convinced that the worst has come and gone, events occur every few months and issues will continue to resurface that’ll shake investor confidence in coming months.

Yields may be at record lows, but bonds still serve as a valuable counterbalance to “bad events” that can occur in a portfolio.

Government bonds may provide insurance, but long-term corporate bonds will continue to offer higher yields than short-term obligations.
