Tony Salgado

Tony Salgado, BBA, CPA, CA, CFP®, CLU® is the Director of Business Transition Planning at CIBC, offering advisors and their clients valuable insights and expertise on business transition planning, tax and estate planning, wealth transfer strategies and corporate reorganizations. He helps clients understand their “keep or sell” options and if the tax and legal ownership of the business is structured tax-efficiently. With the help of our mid-market investment banking team, he can also find a buyer for a seller.

Tony is an estate and tax planning accountant. Before joining CIBC, Tony was the Director of Tax and Estate Planning at another major Canadian financial institution. He also worked at a national accounting firm providing tax planning advice to high-net-worth individuals and business owners.
Tony is often quoted in the national media as an expert on taxation and financial planning and has made guest appearances on BNN and CBC Radio.

Tony has tutored for the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program and has worked as a facilitator for the CPA Canada program.
