Alain Bergeron to lead Mackenzie asset allocation team

Mackenzie Investments has announced that Alain Bergeron has joined the firm as senior vice president, Investment Management. He will be the Mackenzie Asset Allocation Team Lead and will also head the firm’s initiatives in developing alternative strategies.

Bergeron will be responsible for approximately $4 billion in assets, including the Symmetry Portfolios and the lineup of diversified fund-of-fund strategies (formerly named “Founders” funds) and the concentrated funds of best ideas (formerly named “Focus” funds).

These responsibilities are being transitioned from Karen McRae, who is leaving the company on September 6. Andrea Hallett, co-manager, remains with the team.
