CIBC AM names new CEO

David Scandiffio will be joining CIBC as president and CEO of CIBC Asset Management, effective April 6.

Scandiffio will be responsible for the bank’s retail and institutional asset management business, and for its portfolio management team.

He brings more than 20 years of asset management experience to CIBC: for more than a decade, he’s been president of IA Clarington Funds. And, most recently, he took on the added role of executive vice-president of Wealth Management for Industrial Alliance Life Insurance Company (a subsidiary of IA Clarington). He started his career at Mackenzie Financial Corporation.

Scandiffio holds a CFA designation, along with a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science and Economics.
