Envision’s new VP shares leadership tips

David Lanphear has been named vice president, commercial banking and insurance at Envision Financial.

Through his 15 years in financial services, Lanphear has held a number of senior positions.

He shares these three leadership tips.

1. Step up and lead “Be an advocate for your team—remove barriers that are holding them back and make sure they feel valued and important.”

2. Engage your team “Involve your teams in the decisions that affect them and make sure you stop to celebrate successes. At the same time, hold people accountable to their commitments.”

3. Deliver results Leaders need to be able to execute and deliver results. This can involve making tough decisions and having unattainable goals, he says. “But if your team respects you and feels valued, they’ll do what it takes to get the results that are needed.”
