Morneau Shepell Asset & Risk Management has launched the Morneau Shepell Opportunistic Fund, which is targeted toward institutional investors, endowments and foundations.

The fund will invest in niche asset classes, such as equity real estate and infrastructure, opportunistic credit, and private equity strategies.

“The fund [will help] endowments and foundations diversify their portfolios, […] on the heels of some important regulatory changes,” says Rob Boston, partner with Morneau Shepell Asset & Risk Management

Recently, he adds, CRA modified a regulation so that endowments and foundations can now participate in the legal structure necessary to take part in investments such as this new fund.
