The app will use near field communication (NFC) to make safe purchases on Android and BlackBerry mobile devices at Visa payWave enabled merchant terminals. Credit card information will be stored on a specialized NFC SIM card inside the mobile device, and customers will enter a passcode when making payment– a security feature also used for plastic credit cards.

The app will be embedded within TD’s existing mobile banking smartphone application. The main TD app can be downloaded from the bank’s website, Google Play or BlackBerry World.
