MD Financial introduces private credit pool

MD Financial launched a new private credit pool Monday as it looks to provide higher returns to physician clients while interest rates are near all-time lows.

The MD Platinum Global Private Credit Pool will invest in senior secured direct loans to medium-sized businesses in North America and Europe, a release from the Scotiabank-owned firm said.

MD Platinum pools are alternative products offered through MD Private Investment Counsel to physician clients. The private credit pool seeks higher returns than traditional credit while mitigating volatility, the release said.

The firm also offers real estate and private equity pools.
