LeClair joins Manulife Asset Management

Manulife Asset Management has announced Randy LeClair has joined the firm, as a managing director, effective January 30th. In his new role, he will continue to serve as portfolio manager for the Manulife Preferred Income Fund, which he has led since 2009.

“With Randy’s depth of experience in the Canadian marketplace, we add yet another strong member to our fixed income team, in support of our partners at Manulife Mutual Funds,” said Terry Carr, head of Canadian fixed income, Manulife Asset Management. “We look forward to benefiting from his insights and contributions as manager of the Manulife Preferred Income Fund.”

Prior to joining Manulife, LeClair served as chief investment officer and portfolio manager with Portland Investment Counsel, founded by Michael Lee Chin, who sold his AIC mutual fund company to Manulife in 2009. LeClair joined Portland in 1998 and became its CIO in 2010.
