About the moderator

Mary Robinson is Director of Research, Policy & Collaboration with the RIA. In this role, Mary promotes awareness of responsible investment in Canada through research and analysis, advocates for policies that support responsible investment, and facilitates collaboration among the RIA’s membership. Mary is a CFA® charter holder with more than 20 years of experience working with institutional investors, including pension funds, endowments and foundations, in consulting and relationship management roles. Mary believes that incorporating ESG factors in investment decision-making is consistent with the goal of achieving positive financial outcomes for the long term.

About the speakers

With more than 20 years of experience within the investment industry, Terry Dimock currently holds the position of Head Portfolio Manager at National Bank Investments.  With the help of his team, his responsibilities include effective oversight of asset allocation and portfolio manager selection for all of NBI investment funds and managed product solutions; such as NBI Private Wealth Management, NBI Portfolios, and Meritage Portfolios.

Christine Tan is Assistant Vice President, Portfolio Management at Sun Life Global Investments. Christine joined Sun Life Global Investments in 2018, bringing expertise in emerging markets.  She is member of the tactical asset allocation team for the Sun Life Granite Managed Solutions and Sun Life Milestone Funds with a focus on emerging markets. She also provides oversight of the emerging market equity and fixed income funds. Prior to joining Sun Life Global Investments, Christine was Chief Investment Officer and Senior Portfolio Manager at Excel Investment Counsel Inc.

David Ung, B.A.A., MSc. is an ESG analyst on Manulife Investment Management’s global ESG team, where he is responsible for ESG integration and stewardship initiatives to support Canadian portfolio management teams. Prior to joining Manulife Investment Management, David worked in the financial sector for over seven years and has been particularly involved in the responsible investment industry for the past six years as an ESG consultant for Millani, the HEC Montreal Pension Plan and Vigeo Eiris.

June leads NEI’s ESG advisory work, connecting the ESG team with its investor and advisor communities. She holds multiple academic designations including a PhD from the University of Regina, and the Sustainable Investment Professional certification from Concordia University. June leads a steering committee for Women in Capital Markets, and is a passionate advocate for women in finance.
