About the speakers

Anna leads the Global Absolute Return and Tactical Asset Allocation Team, as Vice President & Director at TD Asset Management. She currently has oversight over multi-asset solutions and the integration of fundamental analysis to the global macro and multi-asset allocation investment process. She was previously a member of the Portfolio Management and Research Teams of various investment strategies including Global Absolute Return, Core Canadian Equity, Value and North American Long Short mandates.

Justin has over a decade of experience, encompassing both the insurance and investments industries, with a focus on succession planning and remuneration strategies for business owners. He has held management positions at numerous organizations, including the corporate tax group of a national accounting firm. Prior to joining SLGI, Justin was an independent consultant offering tax-based analysis directly to wealth advisors. Justin is also a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (Vancouver).

John joined Manulife in 2001, having previously worked as a tax lawyer with a national accounting firm and a private law firm. He has experience with estate and retirement planning strategies and a wide variety of general tax matters, including personal and corporate taxation, trusts, and investment-related topics generally. He’s a frequent speaker at industry conferences and seminars and has appeared as a guest expert on industry podcasts and BNN Bloomberg TV. John has published numerous articles on tax and estate planning and is co-editor of Canadian Taxation of Life Insurance.

John is responsible for sales strategy development and supports all individual wealth strategies by creating tax and planning articles, communicating changes in tax legislation and providing expertise on product solutions. Prior to joining Canada Life in 2011, John held tax and accounting roles with Ernst & Young and KPMG. John has completed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants In-depth Tax course and has taught Advanced Corporate Tax at Western University’s Richard Ivey School of Business.
