Assante Wealth Management is launching an online investing platform for its clients using robo-advisor Wealthbar’s technology.

The CI Financial-owned wealth manager’s new Assante Connect platform will be exclusive to Assante clients, the firm said in a release.

Toronto-based CI bought a majority stake in WealthBar Financial Services last December. The Vancouver-based fintech continues to operate as a standalone business.

The platform for Assante allows for a hybrid advice model combining a digital interface with professional advice, said Assante president Sean Etherington in the release.

“What we’ve heard from clients is that over time their needs and the level of support they desire changes,” he said. “This platform provides Assante advisors with the flexibility to stay connected with these clients and adapt to their evolving goals and complexity.”
