Jobs speech hits strong points

President Obama’s make or break speech on a jobs creation plan hit many of the right notes last night and cast a shift away from past tendencies to shrink from a fight.

Of course, as many pundits point out, the speech is merely the starting point and the real work on the $447 billion initiative will start next week in Congress. And, a bipartisan committee of Senators is preparing to re-open the deficit-cutting debate.
