And with such a low adoption rate, the discussion about being prepared for a disability is important. Here are some articles to help start the conversation with clients. Help clients with disabilities Your clients’ disability needs are changing What to do for clients with disabilities Additional findings from the survey include: 76% would face financial hardships if faced with a work absence lasting longer than three months; one-in-three working Canadians will experience a period of disability lasting longer than 90 days during their working lives; the average length of a disability more than 90 days is between two to three years; and mental illness, cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and musculoskeletal diseases, such as arthritis cause more disabilities than accidents.
