3iQ Corp. is set to act as Canada’s first portfolio manager and investment fund manager that’s permitted to invest in multiple crypto-assets. The firm has agreed to terms and conditions with the OSC and CSA.

Units of 3iQ’s Global Cryptoasset Fund, which it says will launch in the next few weeks, will be available to accredited investors, advisors and dealers through Fundserv. Pension funds, institutions and family offices will be able to invest via private placement.

The fund, an exempt market product, is structured as a trust. It will invest directly in bitcoin, ether and litecoin—three leading cryptocurrencies.
