Advisor Group’s Melissa Shin honoured

Advisor Group’s managing editor, print, has been honoured for leadership by Canadian Women in Communications (CWC).

On Monday, Melissa Shin received a Leadership Excellence award in the Emerging Leader category at the 2012 Annual Awards gala held at Ottawa’s Fairmont Chateau Laurier. This award celebrates the achievement of people who have distinguished themselves as leaders and contributed to the industry through their accomplishments.

“[Shin is a] confident, enthusiastic dynamo always willing to take on complex assignments and increasing levels of responsibility,” says the CWC.

Shin also received the award for launching Advisor.ca/women and championing the inclusion of women advisors in all issues of Advisor’s Edge and Advisor’s Edge Report.

The CWC is a national, bilingual organization that champions women’s advancement in Canada’s communications and technology sectors and spotlights their achievements.
