An Advisor.ca investigation, “How banned IIROC and MFDA advisors can still sell insurance,” has also been shortlisted for CFA Society Toronto’s Spirit of the Future of Finance award. The award is meant to support the CFA Institute’s efforts “to shape a trustworthy, forward-thinking financial industry that better serves society.” Read: How to stop banned reps from selling insurance The other two finalists for the Publication of the Year are Bloomberg News and MoneySense magazine. Other finalists for the Journalist of the Year are Dan Bortolotti, MoneySense and Maciej Onoszko, Bloomberg News. Other articles shortlisted for The Spirit of the Future of Finance Award are: “Smaller is better as Canada hedge funds outperform global rivals,” by Allison McNeely and Maciej Onoszko, Bloomberg News; and “TFSAs: The new way to invest even more,” by Dan Bortolotti and Julie Cazzin, MoneySense. The winners will be announced March 28. Advisor’s Edge was also shortlisted for Publication of the Year in 2013.
