A British Columbia woman has been sentenced to 90 days under house arrest and a year’s probation after she admitted to violating a trading ban.

According to the B.C. Securities Commission (BCSC), Enna Keller pleaded guilty to two counts of trading while prohibited by a BCSC order that was handed down in 2017.

Keller was permanently banned after a BCSC hearing panel found that she engaged in fraud, unregistered trading and breaching cease trade orders “for her role in raising approximately US$3.2 million from roughly 315 investors” for a manufacturing company, Lexicon Building Systems Ltd.

The BCSC said that Keller breached the trading prohibition when she instructed Lexicon to compensate harmed investors by giving them shares in the company.

“The judge cited the Covid-19 pandemic and the non-violent nature of Keller’s offence in sentencing her to probation, which includes 90 days of house arrest,” the commission noted.
