Bank of Montreal (BMO) announced on Tuesday the launch of a new group focusing on companies in the technology sector.

The Technology & Innovation Banking Group will offer tailored advice and funding to tech companies at every stage of their life cycle, and work with the bank’s capital markets and wealth-management teams to provide corporate banking and investment services, BMO said in a release.

Andre Salvi, who has more than 20 years’ experience in financial services, will lead the Technology & Innovation Banking Group.

“These companies have diverse needs — including investing, business planning and wealth-management requirements,” Salvi said in the release. “We bring a bank-wide approach and are excited to make an impact and help the companies in this fast-evolving sector.”

Devon Dayton and Deirdre Bergin will both serve as managing directors of the group.
