Carol Lynde is the Investment Funds Institute of Canada’s (IFIC) new chair.

Lynde, president and CEO of Bridgehouse Asset Managers, was elected to the two-year term at the association’s AGM this week. Previously vice-chair of IFIC’s board, Lynde replaces Ross Kappele, EVP and head of distribution at BMO Asset Management Canada. Kappele remains on IFIC’s board.

“I am proud to serve as chair of IFIC’s board during this period of rapid change in the investment funds industry,” Lynde said in a statement. “IFIC’s ongoing collaboration with all of our stakeholders will be essential as we seek to further strengthen the integrity of the investment funds industry, foster public confidence in investment funds and enable investors to achieve good outcomes.”

Three new directors joined IFIC’s board: Kathleen Bock, principal and head of the Americas region at the Vanguard Group; Jordy Chilcott, president of Sun Life Global Investments; and Eric Hallé, regional vice-president, Eastern Canada, at Dynamic Funds.
