The Canadian Insurance Services Regulatory Organizations (CISRO) have appointed Eric Jacob as chairman, the regulators said in a release on Thursday.

Jacob is the superintendent of client services and distribution with the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) and brings to the role more than 20 years of leadership in the financial services industry spanning the insurance, banking and securities sectors.

CISRO also acknowledged the contributions of outgoing chairman Ron Fullan. These include CISRO’s implementation of the harmonized Life Licence Qualification Program across Canada and Fullan’s implementation oversight of the guidance on the fair treatment of customers, a joint project with the Canadian Council of Insurance Regulators.
