Clients interested in alts? Here’s how to use them

There are many reasons advisors don’t use alts: more education is needed on how to use them, and the compliance burden is heavier when offering these products to clients.

So said a panel of experts at the 2016 Canadian Hedge Fund conference in Toronto. That panel included: Darren Coleman, senior vice-president and portfolio manager at Coleman Wealth, Raymond James; Harrison Keenan, investment advisor at Echelon Wealth Partners; Craig Machel, director of Wealth Management and portfolio manager at Richardson GMP; and Barnaby Ross, director and investment advisor at RBC Dominion Securities.
