Canada’s communications regulator has issued its first-ever spam fine to Compu-Finder.
The Canadian Radio-television and Tele-communications Commission (CRTC) alleges Compu-Finder sent unsolicited emails and didn’t have a working unsubscribe button.
The CRTC also says Compu-Finder was the subject of 26% of the industry sector complaints it received.
The company has 30 days to contest the fine.
Under Canada’s anti-spam law, people can be fined up to $1 million for spam, while companies can be fined up to $10 million.
