Toronto-based Cumberland Private Wealth Management has named Peter Jackson as its chief investment officer, effective immediately. Prior to the promotion, Jackson had been the firm’s vice-CIO, and lead manager, Canadian equities.

“Peter has been an integral member of Cumberland’s 10 person investment team since joining the firm in 1999, delivering exceptional results,” says Gerry Connor, Cumberland’s chairman and CEO. “His leadership skills and expertise, coupled with Cumberland’s strong performance and management will ensure continued success for our clients.”

Jackson is a 25-year veteran of the investment management business, having spent the past 12 years at Cumberland.

Prior to joining the firm, he managed a private investment partnership that acted as a sub-advisor for Elliott and Page Investment Counsel. He also served as a portfolio manager and investment analyst at Barclays McConnell and Sun Life, with a focus on Canadian equities stock selection and research.
