ModernAdvisor has launched a Custom Portfolios service, which will enable investors to personalize their portfolios based on their needs and preferences. When designing such a portfolio, ModernAdvisor will take clients’ total net worth into account rather than not just the portion it manages.

“Our range of standard portfolios work well for most investors, [but] we often come across clients with special circumstances,” says Navid Boostani, co-founder and CEO of ModernAdvisor. “They may have substantial liquid or illiquid investments outside of ModernAdvisor that should be considered when designing a suitable portfolio. So, for these clients, we now offer to take a holistic view of their net worth.”

ModernAdvisor uses ETFs to build its custom portfolios and the service is available to clients who invest $150,000 or more with the firm, at no additional cost. Clients who qualify work with internal registered investment advisors.

“[Clients] can get a customized portfolio for an annual fee of 0.40% or less, which is unprecedented in Canada”, says Boostani.
