National financial literacy charity Prosper Canada has launched the Disability Benefits Compass, a new tool to help people living with disabilities learn about and access national and provincial disability income supports.

The tool is meant to accompany the Benefits Wayfinder Tool, which Prosper Canada launched in January to help individuals as well as community service providers that help people access income benefits.

“Every year, over one in five people with low incomes miss out on potentially thousands of dollars in benefits they could be receiving,” said Elizabeth Mulholland, CEO of Prosper Canada, in a release. “The Benefits Wayfinder is designed to help people to quickly and easily identify the benefits they’re eligible for, but not yet receiving, and how to access them.”

The tools are free, available in English or French and presented in plain language.
