EMDA announces winners of 2013 awards

The Exempt Market Dealers Association of Canada (EMDA) announced the winners of the 2013 EMDA Awards.

The awards, created to recognize the exempt market deal of the year, will be presented today at the 2013 EMDA Exempt Market Conference in Toronto.

“The winners are helping to finance entrepreneurs and innovators, develop and grow emerging businesses and create successful alternative exempt market investment opportunities for Canadians,” says David Gilkes, vice-chair of EMDA.

Capital raised in the exempt market helps finance economic activity across Canada and is an important contributor to creating wealth and fueling our economy, he adds.

The nominees are evaluated based on their leadership in the industry, contribution to the deal, market innovation, impact, and the benefits of the deal for the issuer and for investors.
