Paul Smith, former CFA Institute president and CEO, has joined the Financial Modeling Institute (FMI) as a board member and senior advisor.
According to a Wednesday release from the global accreditation body, Smith will work with its leadership team to drive growth as well as awareness of the organization. One of the FMI’s goals is to continue its expansion in the number of countries where exams are offered (both in-person and virtual exams are available).
Smith served as the CFA Institute’s president and CEO for more than four years, from January 2015 to September 2019. He was succeeded by Margaret Franklin, current head of the institute.
“We look forward to his dynamic perspective and advice which will help expand awareness that financial models have become the most important decision-making tools in finance,” said Ian Schnoor, executive director of the FMI, in the release.
