FP Canada provides flexibility to those seeking CFP certification

Despite educational programs being affected by the coronavirus pandemic, the FP Canada Institute has introduced measures that will allow individuals to continue pursuing their CFP certification.

Education providers, including the Canadian Institute of Financial Planning (CIFP) and Canadian Securities Institute (CSI), have temporarily suspended in-person exams until further notice, which has affected some people’s ability to complete the required education for CFP certification.

To help, the FP Canada Institute will allow those enrolled in certain prerequisite courses with the CIFP and CSI to enrol in the CFP Professional Education Program, prior to completing their entire Core and Advanced Curriculum.

“These are unprecedented times and it’s essential to find ways to adapt,” said Tom Hamza, head of the FP Canada Institute, in a release. “We are taking these steps to provide flexibility to students looking to continue to advance their learning in pursuit of CFP certification.”

Eligible students will be able to enrol in the CFP Professional Education Program cohorts beginning in May, June and July.
