Guess who’s richer than Buffett

Warren Buffett has occupied the second spot on the Forbes 400 list of the wealthiest Americans for 15 years, but this year he’s been knocked down a peg.

Warren Buffett has occupied the second spot on the Forbes 400 list of the wealthiest Americans for 15 years, behind Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates. But he’s been knocked down a peg this year.

Amazon’s Jeff Bezos has edged Buffett out by US$1.5 billion dollars. Forbes places Bezos’s net worth at US$67 billion. Thanks to his company Berkshire Hathaway, Buffett’s net worth is US$65.5 billion.

Billions above them both is Gates, whose net worth is US$81 billion.

Rounding out the top five are Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg with US$55.5 billion, and Oracle’s Larry Ellison, who has US$49.3 billion.
