HSBC Global Asset Management (Canada) Limited is changing the investment strategy, and lowering the management and trailer fees for a global equities fund.

On Thursday, the asset manager announced that the investment strategy of the HSBC Global Equity Volatility Focused Fund will change on June 2.

The fund will now employ a proprietary systematic investment process that uses value, quality, momentum, low-risk and size factors to maximize risk-adjusted returns while reducing volatility. This marks a change from the fund’s current strategy, which uses market research and quantitative analysis to mitigate volatility.

The investment objective and risk rating of the fund will not change, HSBC said in a release. HSBC Global Asset Management (UK) Limited will continue to manage the fund.

HSBC is also lowering the management and trailer fees for the fund, effective June 2. For details on the new fees, see HSCB’s release.
