The Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) has elected Debra Doucette as an industry director on its board, effective Nov. 25, the regulator said in a release on Wednesday.

Doucette, president and CEO of Vancouver-based Odlum Brown Ltd., has worked in the investment industry for more than 35 years.

“We are pleased to welcome Debra to the board,” said Paul D. Allison, chairman and CEO with Raymond James Ltd., and chairman of IIROC’s board, in the release. “Her deep industry knowledge, unique skillset and history of leadership make her an ideal individual for this role.”

The appointment comes as Holly A. Benson retires from the industry and steps down as industry director, after having served on IIROC’s board for almost seven years.
