Lesley Marks has been appointed chief investment officer, equities, of Toronto-based Mackenzie Investments, effective Jan. 25.

Marks will serve as one half of Mackenzie’s new dual CIO model, joined by Steve Locke, who was named CIO, fixed income and multi-asset strategies, in November.

Marks and Locke were both appointed to replace Tony Elavia, who retired from his post as Mackenzie’s executive vice-president and CIO last month.

Marks brings more than 25 years of experience to her new role. She spent the last 22 years with BMO Global Asset Management and BMO Wealth Management, serving most recently as CIO and head of investment management of BMO Private Wealth (Canada).
