Toronto-based Mackenzie Investments announced on Friday that Nelson Arruda, vice-president and portfolio manager, has taken over portfolio management responsibilities from Alain Bergeron, who has decided to leave Mackenzie effective Aug. 14.

Arruda replaces Bergeron as the portfolio manager for 26 Mackenzie funds, and will also provide asset mix recommendations for 14 of the firm’s balanced funds.

Arruda joined Mackenzie in January 2017 and has extensive industry experience, having served previously in a senior role at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board.
