Toronto-based Mackenzie Investments is expanding access to the Mackenzie US Mid Cap Opportunities Fund.

The mutual fund was previously available as series R, meaning it could only be used by other Mackenzie funds, but it will now be open to all investors.

The fund will be managed by senior vice president Phil Taller, vice president and portfolio manager Sonny Aggarwal and associate portfolio manager John Lumbers, all of whom have “deep expertise and knowledge” of mid-cap names in the U.S., a release said.

The fund invests in “high-quality, innovative businesses that have the potential to deliver long-term capital growth,” the release said.

Mackenzie has also tweaked other funds: the Mackenzie US Mid Cap Growth Class is now the Mackenzie US Small-Mid Cap Growth Class, while the Mackenzie US Mid Cap Growth Currency Neutral Class is now the Mackenzie US Small-Mid Cap Growth Currency Neutral Class. No changes have been made to the funds’ strategies.
