Toronto-based Manulife Investment Management has appointed Scott Gordon as senior managing director, head of real estate asset management, Canada. Gordon will assume the position on Jan. 6, 2020.

Gordon will be responsible for Manulife’s real estate investment assets and oversee office, industrial and multifamily assets within Canada, a release said.

Previously, Gordon held progressive positions with Brookfield Office Properties in New York and Brookfield’s Real Estate Private Equity team in Toronto. He most recently served as executive director, Canadian investments, at Starlight Investments Ltd., where he oversaw acquisitions, dispositions and financing of multifamily assets in Canada.

“As we look to the future of our Canadian real estate portfolio, Scott will be integral to delivering on our customer-centric vision and optimizing asset performance,” said Ted Willcocks, Manulife’s global head of asset management, real estate.
