Manulife Investment Management has appointed Alex Catterick as senior managing director of the company’s high-net-worth (HNW) strategy in private markets.

In the newly created position, Catterick will oversee global strategy as well as “the development, launch and growth of new products designed for the HNW investor base,” a release said.

Catterick brings more than two decades of wealth management experience to the role, and was most recently the regional head of alternative investments at HSBC.

“Through this development, we hope to educate and provide access for investors who may be missing out on the significant diversification and return potential of private assets,” said Ken Pogrin, COO, private markets, Manulife Investment Management, in the release.
