Edmonton-based CWB Financial Group has appointed Matt Evans president and CEO of its wealth management division.

An experienced private wealth advisor, Evans joined CWB’s wealth management team in 2010. He has since held progressive leadership roles at CWB and most recently served as the firm’s vice-president of strategy and corporate development, according to a release.

“Matt brings extensive experience in corporate strategic planning and execution, excellent leadership capabilities, and a strong network in private wealth, investment management and capital markets,” said Stephen Murphy, executive vice-president, banking, CWB.

Evans succeeds David Schaffner, who announced his retirement in December.
