Twin brothers attending Calgary’s Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) took home the top prize in the Institute of Advanced Financial Planners’ (IAFP) fifth-annual Student Financial Planning Competition.

Trevor and Malcolm Readman, both in their third year of the Bachelor of Business Administration applied degree program at SAIT’s School of Business, were recognized for their two-page presentation  and video for this year’s theme, “Making Financial Planning a Recognized Profession.”

As winners, the Readmans will receive an expense-paid trip to Edmonton to give a 45-minute presentation at the IAFP’s annual symposium on Sept. 26, 2019.

“The work we did in preparation really opened our eyes to the vulnerabilities in the industry,” Malcolm Readman said in a release. “We’re looking forward to attending the symposium and sharing our opinions with the audience on how recognizing financial planning as a profession will address those issues.”
